Geometry Class

Alanna Nunez submitted the following to me after I asked her to write some observations about Geometry class.

"Our Geometry class, which is taught by Bro. Hall, is a very challenging class.  Based on Bro. Hall's grading scale, our test score equal 60% of our grade, our quizzes equal 15% of our grade, and our homework counts for 25% of our grade.  He set these percentages like he did because it is now impossible to pass your test if you don't do your homework.  Bro. Hall felt it was imperative for our class to have a set of 'Class Commandments'.  He also felt that these 10 'commandments' should employ 'Thou shalts' and 'Thou shalt nots'."

Bro Hall's only source of mercy is our journal.  In our Journal, we are permitted to write definitions, notes, constructions, and anything we think is important.  These journals help us study for tests, and we are allowed to use them on most of our quizzes.  Bro Hall's latest inspiration was to have us write a four page research paper on an assigned geometric topic.

It is a very unique class, but as our textbooks say, 'Happiness is Geometry Class!'"

Thanks, Alanna, for those great insights, and good luck with Geometry!

Sacred Chow - VBS 2010

Vacation Bible School 2010 at PGPC kicked off with a bang, as Chef Pierre took the stage Monday night, thrilling kids of all ages.  Chef Pierre, played by Chuck Moss, along with Eric Adcock, the VBS teacher, presented the Sacred Chow Food Court, which was the theme for this year's VBS.  They were joined by several costumed teenagers, as well, including Savannah Copeland, who played Big Cheese; Christine Adcock, who played Chinese Takeout; and Matthew Hancock, who played Big Grape.

Vacation Bible School boasted many great activities for the children this year including learning about the parable of Jesus, live music and sing-a-longs led by the all star cast, lots of great food, exciting take home crafts created by the children, and lots of audience participation!
